Van der Valk Hotel, Best - Holland

Located near Brussels Airport, the Mövenpick Hotel stands as a flagship destination for Accor, offering 103 stylish rooms, wellness facilities, and the rooftop restaurant, Magritte. Designed by Studio WeWantMore, the hotel&#039;s interiors pay homage to Belgium&#039;s surrealist art tradition, creating an experience that is both theatrical and dream-like. Our high-quality wallcoverings and curtain fabrics were carefully applied throughout the interior, contributing to the refined and inviting ambiance.

The interiors evoke a sense of floating among the clouds, with warm whites and soft blues reinforcing this ethereal vision. To support this ambiance, Studio WeWantMore selected <a href="https://vescom.com/en/products/delos" title="Delos curtain fabric">Delos, a curtain fabric</a> with an allover 3D structured weave and a two-tonal coloured, sheen yarn effect, adding subtle depth and a soft tactile quality. For this project, it was custom-dyed in a mint-muted blue shade, designed to blend effortlessly with the interior palette. This bespoke colour complements elements like cloud-shaped carpets and sheer textiles, enhancing the weightless, airy atmosphere. Delos combines aesthetic appeal with durability and fire retardancy. Made with 32% recycled polyester FR, it&#039;s a practical and sustainable choice for high-traffic areas.

In the corridors, Studio WeWantMore chose <a target="_blank" href="/en/inspiration/stories/vescom-vinyl-wallcovering-makes-the-difference" title="Vescom vinyl wallcovering makes the difference">vinyl wallcoverings</a>, specifically the <a target="_blank" href="/en/products/corvo" title="Vinyl wallcovering Corvo">Corvo</a> and <a target="_blank" href="/en/products/albert" title="Vinyl wallcovering Albert">Albert</a> designs, introducing delicate, subtle textures in warm light beige tones. This selection provides a pleasing contrast to the wooden finishes, enhancing the visual depth of the space. The wallcoverings&#039; durability and resistance to scratches make them ideal for high-traffic areas, ensuring longevity without compromising on style.

Mövenpick Hotel Brussels Airport

A new urban district is taking shape on the site of the former freight station in Heidelberg: Bahnstadt, one of the world&#039;s largest passive house neighborhoods. This area offers a mix of residential and commercial spaces, as well as leisure and cultural facilities. All buildings in Bahnstadt are constructed to passive house standards to fulfill the goal of a zero-emission district. Among them is the ATLANTIC Hotel Heidelberg, the most striking building in this new district, standing at 50 meters tall. Vescom <a target="_blank" href="/en/wallcovering" title="Wallcovering">wallcovering</a> and <a target="_blank" href="/en/upholstery" title="Upholstery">upholstery fabrics</a> are featured in almost all areas of the hotel.

Luxury materials for high-end interiors

The new ATLANTIC Hotel Heidelberg is the world&#039;s first high-rise hotel built to passive house standards. It features 310 rooms and suites, eight event spaces, a grand ballroom, and a fitness area with a sauna. The hotel’s dining options include the large 15 High restaurant with a rooftop bar and the Deli Lounge on the ground floor. Throughout the hotel, accent colors such as red and green reference Heidelberg’s surroundings—from the Bergstraße’s renowned vineyards to the red sandstone of the Neckar-Odenwald region.

Sustainability, resource conservation, and circularity were key considerations in the planning of the hotel’s interior. The designers prioritized high-quality, comfortable furnishings that ensure long-term appeal. Many wall surfaces and a large portion of the upholstered furniture in the public areas are finished with Vescom wallcovering and upholstery fabrics. The elegant wallcovering is highly durable, easy to clean, and can be disinfected when needed. The upholstery fabrics include designs made from recycled materials, woven at Vescom’s mill in Germany. These fabrics consist largely of flame-retardant polyester yarn derived from post-consumer PET bottles.
